Got this from Sean and it has put out its first flower. The flower is relatively big and form is nice.

New hobby

Just started on planted tank craze recently or rather i have been thinking about it but took the plunged during Aquarama 2009 by purchased a 4 x 2 sump tank. The crazy things that i have done, took leave last week and drove to Lim Chu Kang to buy aquatic plants, visited numerous aquariums around Singapore. The tank is finally up and running and all thanks to my good pal CC for helping me out and guiding me patiently.

Phalaenopsis Agnes Sng

It has been a while since i last posted. Have been very busy with my new hobby, planted tank. It has been up and running since last friday. Still waiting for the tank to cycle before loading more fishes to it. Think i'm going crazy very soon.

This is the latest plant that i bought last week from Uncle T. The very moment that i walked out from his shed, this plant was immediately pollinated. Hopefully the pollination will take place.



This plant was breed and registed by Uncle T in year 2006 volume 114, number 1272. The parents are Phal. Penang Girl x Phal. Kuangfeng's Ruby. Its such a pity that the Penang Girl is no longer around otherwise it should be in my IW list.

Phalaenopsis Luedde Violacea & hybridsing thoughts

Just when i was wondering where to get this plant over the weekend and was talking to Wairon to remark some crosses, JT popped out and said he has. I was liked... wow liow eh... i quickly pestered him to allow me to pollinate the plant featured above. He walked to the next rack and took out another one to show me. Without much hesitation, i told him to sell it to me. He agreed to it almost immediately and i happily hung it on my rack. Im going to the nursery tomorrow to take a picture of the bloom before it get "rape".

This afternoon i sent an email to WR and told him about the parentage of this particular cros that i have been thinking of to remake. Have been to some reading over a few websites and more or less have some ideas in mind on what i want to achieve. With the help of WR and those in the nursery, im sure we are going to come out with some wonderful remake and from there launch into some new hybrids.

Had posted this previously and this time it has 5 flowers in bloomed. Think im going to get more of this breed and see how all of them turn out.

Bought this from Taiwan and it has grown very quickly into a mature plant. First time it has thrown out 6 flowers at one go.... m very please with this purchased.

Labrador's living intertidal shore

Was browsing through Wild shores of Singapore website and click on the link that brought me to Labrador's living intertidal shore page. Didn't realise that there were so many corals, different marine lives that made homes on our coasts including those in the southern islands and elsewhere.

Come to think of it, nature is always on the loosing end when developments have to take place. Was watching Animal Planet last night and there was a mixed group of people that were selected to go to Borneo to help to save the wild orangutan habitat. I seriously think that the organiser had selected the wrong group of people to go there as they are not used to our climate at all. By mid noon most of them were grousing away and bitching at one another. Maybe they should consider asian folks as we are the one that living in the similar climatic zone. Sorry to digress. Back to Labrador.. i like to take a walk over at the park once in awhile as the scenery there is nice and a good place to relax especially after a long day in the office.
