Blooming phalaenopsis in the garden

Photobucket

Had a feeling that my Phalaenopsis hieroglyphica is blooming caused before i left for Cameron the bulbs are already set. Luckly, i asked CC to bring along the camera else i would hv to kick myself caused i had more then what i bargain for today.

Phalaenopsis violacea alba

Photobucket

This is my first alba form of violacea. Got this from Malaysia also, wanted to get the mother plant but the owner refused to and pointed me to the selfing that he made. So glad that i bought it as the form of the flower turn up very nice.

Phalaenopsis Princess Kaiulani

Bought this from TIOS and it was carefully selected as i had been looking high and low for this plant. Dnt really like the flower form but hopefully the next flower will be better.

Cameron Highland

On one of the rest stop
Photobucket

We drove to Cameron Highland on 18 April on orchid buying spree. Two drives, 4 passagers and two cars. All in all, i drove 1600km for the entire trip. It was fun and exciting. Just that i took the danger of driving my replacement car that i got from the workshop up on the task. I thank God that we were all back safe and sound and the car as well, else i will be in deep trouble as the replacement car was not covered and not supposed to be driven up to Malaysia.

Another beautifull bulbophyllum i obtained from our purchasing trip to Malaysia.

Phalaenopsis Su An Cricket

Photobucket

Got this from LMH on 1 Jan 08. All of us got big discount from him which is very rare for him to do so. I think its time for me to visit him again.

Photobucket

Phalaenopsis Su An Cricket X Amboinensis flava

Photobucket

This is awefully pretty and i cldnt get it out of my mind the first time i saw this. Had to make another trip to obtain it.

Photobucket

Phalaenopsis maculata

Photobucket

I think this plant needs a bit of cooling in order to have a nicer and bigger bloom. The flower size is too small and its cupped.

Shld i or shld i not get the flava form?

Phalaenopsis fimbriata

Photobucket

This plant was in bloom late last year and i must say that the overall shape of the flowers were disappointing. Hopefully this year it will be in a better form.

Photobucket

Bulbophyllum claptonense

Photobucket

This was purchased from Malaysia, one of our usual purchasing site. Didnt expect the color to be so vibrant. The best part is that it emit a very nice fragrance.

Photobucket

Phalaenopsis violacea mentawi

Photobucket

I will not going into details on whether shld this be elevated to species rank or not but just enjoy the flower and nice frangrant.

Photobucket

Phalaenopsis amabilis

Photobucket

This is one of my most recent purchased from Sean. It is doing very well and its currently still blooming away. A very rewarding species to grow if the environment is correct.

My first attempt to take a side profile.
Photobucket

Phalaenopsis speciosa

Photobucket

Many of us gone crazy over this when it was available for sales. Many people were rushing down to the nursery to grap the plants and the price was shooting sky high. It is on its road to recovery at CC's house now. Hopefully, it will bloom again soon.

Photobucket

Phalaenopsis inscriptiosinensis

Photobucket

This was one of the very first few phalaenopsis that i obtained. Too bad it died on me due to poor growing environment at home. I have a new one given to me by CC which is doing very well over at my growing rack.

Paraphalaenopsis laycockii alba

Photobucket

Got this rare alba form of laycockii by chance. Both of us when to Alexandra Village for dinner and before that we decided to pop by Ah Chua's shop for browse. Actually this plant didnt catch my attention as i was looking at another orchid instead. Some how or rather, someone else was asking abt this and i immediately jump in to do my selection. A few weeks later, to my surprised, Wairon told me that it is an alba form and Tommy also confirmed its status.

Photobucket

Phalaenopsis bellina

Photobucket

This is my all time favourite phalaenopsis species. The fragrant is so intrigue and never fail to memerise me.
